27th January – 6th March

Summer exhibition A survey exhibition of paintings from the stockroom including works by Cressida Campbell; Arthur Boyd; Ray Crooke; William Robinson and Kenneth Macqueen.

 

9th March –  3rd April

Gordon Shepherdson An exhibition by one of Queensland’s most significant painters, comprising a selection of his dark, sombre landscapes and haunting, expressionistic figures.

 

6th April – 1st  May

Ian Fairweather A wide ranging survey of the career of Ian Fairweather (1891 – 1974) whose paintings and gouaches are among the most recognizable images of Australian abstraction in the modernist period.

 

4th  May – 29th  May

Davida Allen - Davida Paints as a Grandmother - The former Archibald winner exhibits her autobiographical landscapes and self-portraits in her recognizable impasted and expressionistic paintings.

 

1st  June – 26th June

Philip Hunter - An exhibition of the Melbourne painter’s abstract representation of the rural and desert Australian landscape, emphasising the complexity and significance of location and place.

 

29th  June – 24th  July

Neil Frazer - The Sydney based painter’s first exhibition at Philip Bacon Galleries. Frazer’s detailed landscapes emphasize the effects of climate and the intricacy of natural rock formations.

 

27th July – 21st  August

June Tupicoff - An exhibition of new landscape paintings works depicting the subtle and complex detail of the coastal Australian bushland of the ‘Wallum’.

 

24th August – 18th  September

Criss Canning presents her recognisable palate of rich colour in her depictions of complex floral arrangements and interior scenes. 

Tony White The gallery presents a selection of new pieces by the internationally renowned Sydney jeweler.


21st September – 16th October

Wendy Sharpe In this exhibition of recent paintings, the former Archibald Prize winner presents her endearing expressionistic figures and vibrant urban scenes.

 


19th October – 13th  November

Ralph Wilson An exhibition of new works by the Brisbane based artist depicting the coast and waterways of Moreton Bay, emphasizing the changing moods of the coastal landscape.

 

16th  November – 11th December

 

Michael Zavros An exhibition of new paintings, drawings and sculptures demonstrating the artist’s stylized technique, heavily influenced by commercial and media approaches to beauty.

 

14th  December – 24th  December
