After winning
the Italian Travelling Scholarship in 1957 and spending
time in Rome , Daws lived and worked in London, travelling
extensively. In 1961 his work was included in the influential
exhibition Recent Australian Painting curated by the
Whitechapel Gallery, London and was also included in
the Paris Biennale des Jeunes, Paris . Since that time
Daws has exhibited widely both in Australia and abroad.
In 2000 - 2001 Daws work was the subject of a major
survey exhibition curated by both the University of
Queensland Art Museum and the Brisbane City Gallery.
His work is represented in collections both in Australia
and abroad.
